Capacity Building on Advanced Techniques in Molecular Biology and Microbiology From 30th May to 8th June, 2017

About the Training

Molecular methods offer considerable advantage over the conventional methods with their wide application in diverse areas of research and diagnosis of infectious diseases. A number of nucleic acid based molecular techniques have been developed in the recent years which are applicable in diverse areas of biology, viz. identification and differentiation of species, typing and subtyping of microbes for molecular epidemiological study, diagnosis of infectious diseases, understanding cancer biology, forensic sciences, etc. In spite of tremendous advantages and great potential of wide scale application, requirement of necessary infrastructure and adequate skill among the users have still limited their applications in developing countries. To bring about the needed change in this direction, systematic efforts are necessary to make the end users aware of the advantages of application of these novel approaches in their areas of research and practice as well as to develop the necessary skills among them. The present training is organized with a view to train selected teachers, researchers and biomedical practitioners on application of advanced techniques in molecular biology and microbiology so that they may effectively use these techniques in their research and practice for the ultimate benefit of the masses.
